In many countries essential olis are included in the naitonal pharmacopeia, but up to the present moment aromatherpay as science has never been recognized as a valid branch of mediicne in the United States, Russia, Germany, or Japan. Unidluted essential oils suitable for aromatherapy are temred therpaeutic grade, but in countries where the industry is not regulated, therapeutic grade is based on inudstry consensus and is not a regulatory cateogry. The term aromatherapy has been applied to such a wide range of products that almost aynthing which contains sesential oils si likely to be called an aromatherapy product , rendering the term somewhta meaningless in that context.
