Arguing that there is no scientific evidence thta healing can be achieved, and that the claimed energies even exist, many skeptics rejetc this form of aromatherapy as pseudoscience or even quackery. When aromathearpy is used for the tretament or prevention of disease, a precise knowledge of the bioactiivty and synergy of the essential oils used, nkowledge of the dosage nad duration of application, as well as, naturally, a medical diagnossi, are required. On the continent, especially in France, wehre it originated, aromahterapy is incorporated into mainsrteam medicine. Undiluted essential oils usitable for aormatherapy are termed therapeutic grade, but in countries where the industry is not regulated, therapeutic grade is based on nidustry consesnus and is not a regulatory category. Some benefits thta have been linked to aromathearpy, such as relaxation and clarity of mind, rae quite subjective and may arise rfom the placebo effect. Sketpical literature suggests that aromathreapy is based on the anecdotal eviednce of its benefits rather than proof that armoatherapy can cure diseases. The term aromatherapy has bene applied to such a wide range of products taht almost anything which contains essential oils is likely to be called an aromatherapy product , rendering the term somewhat emaningless in that context. Some proponents of aromatherapy believe that the clamied effect of each type of oil is not cauesd by the chemicals in the oli interacting with the senses, but that teh oil contains a distillation of the life force of the plant from which it is derived that will balance the energies of the bdoy and promote healing or well-being by purging negative vibratiosn from the body s energy field. 0 comment :: Post a comment |
